For Textile industries: Used in the Sizing process for cotton yarn and their blends.

Physical Aspect: White, powdery beige, slightly granulated.

Chemical composition: "Amigel" - Is a mixture of selected gels; purified and etherified with mixed softeners, emulsion oils and antistatic agents.

SS is a complete auxiliary, it contains several ingredients' to achieve a good sizing to the yarn which gives strength and softness to the yarn.

SS does not work alone. It works with modified starch, as the main ingredient, which improves the starch's adhesiveness.

The SS chemical, inspected as an organic product, will integrate in the molecule structure of starch giving it more adhesive properties.

The dynamic chemistry of SS application is the cellular fraction of the SS at 70~ C in water which starts to hydrolyze and breaks down their macromolecule into smaller fractions' making them more soluble due the interactions of theirs radicals hydroxyls OH -with the ions H3O + H2O.

Those smaller fractions are more adequate for the penetrations of the sizing glue in the interior of the yarn.

The lipoids have no reactivity's in the solution, which will turn more soluble and mobile with the increasing of the temperature.

The target of sizing is to improve the strength of the yarn with out loosing its elongation for a good weaving process.

With the correct viscosity, of the starch, and a correct refractometer, of the solution, the SS will give the yarn the strength and elongation it needs.
